Fire Alarms - Emergency Warning Systems
An Emergency warning system is required to be listed on a compliance schedule in all cases.
Examples of emergency warning systems include, but are not limited to the following.
Emergency warning systems that perform a function contributing to the fire safety precautions of a building, for example:
-manual warning systems (type 2 alarm)
-automatic fire alarm system with heat detector and manual call points (type 3 alarm)
-automatic fire alarm system with smoke detectors and manual call points (type 4 alarm)
Inspections: Emergency Warning systems require regular inspection and testing to ensure the system will operate as required by the performance standard in the event of fire or other danger.
Maintenance: Planned preventative maintenance and responsive maintenance should be carried out in accordance with the nominated performance and inspection standard or document, and to ensure the system will operation as required in the event of a fire or other danger.
