Access-controlled Doors / Interfaced fire or smoke doors or windows
SS3/2 Access Controlled Doors: Are required to be listed on the Compliance Schedule where the door:
-Has a security control measure installed on or as part of it, and
-could trap occupants in a building, should it fail to operation as required.
Inspections Access-controlled doors require regular inspections to ensure occupants are not prevented from leaving the building and are able to leave the building without the use of swipe cards, keys or other security devices in the event of an emergency.
Daily and Monthly Inspections should be inspected to ensure the doors are not: Locked, Barred or Blocked.
Six Monthly Inspections or at the interval stated in the Compliance schedule. To check operation of fail-safe devices in emergency and power outage situations. Connection to Alarm systems. Any emergency power supply required to operate in the even of a power failure.
